Gordon Manson, has, after working in Austria for 36 years , become one of its most recognisable Golf Professionals.

Gordon began in 1984 , as a young man of 24 years of age, at G.C. Wels in Upper Austria. There followed Head Professional positions in Carinthia at G.C. Bad Kleinkirchheim and G.C. Millstatt .

As the Trainer for the Austrian National Team for 7 years it allowed Gordon to work with some of Austria's most talented young golfers , supporting them at European and World Championships. During his time as National Trainer he also coached the "Legendary" North Region junior team.

Gordon has always maintained a very high playing standard, as his record shows. With his success for Austria on the European Seniors Tour, he once again proved his ability to compete at a very high level.

The invitation to work alongside Martin, at G.C. Velden , to support the members, juniors, and guests, is a new chapter he is really looking forward to.

Playing Background

I've always been proud of my playing strength and I'm constantly working to maintain a high standard. For me, there is a close connection between a high standard in my golf lessons as well as in my own game.

In the 70's I started to win tournaments, where I became the youngest player to win the Yorkshire Professional Championship. At that time I was an assistant professional at Ganton Golf Club.

On the European Tour I played alongside many of the world's best golfers, Faldo, Langer, Woosenam, Ballesteros, Norman to name just a few.

Now, 3 decades later, I'm still competitive.

My victory at the National Open Championship 2009, with -14 under par in Bad Ischl, came exactly 25 years after my 1st Professional title in Austria in 1984.

I am particularly proud to have played senior majors in Europe and the United States.
